AWARE SOCIETY requires a Temporary F/T Job Coach/Trainer for Job Options BC Program in New Westminster for a period of 12 Weeks commencing early Jan 2012 through to March 2012.

Location – New Westminster, Hours of Work: 37.5 hrs/week

Summary:
Job Options BC Program assists non-EI, multi-barriered unemployed participants 18 years of age or older to improve employability and secure employment through group training workshops, one-to-one coaching and work experience placements. Job Coach/Trainers are responsible to recruit/assess program participants, deliver group training sessions, provide one-to-one coaching, assist participants to secure work experience placements, engage in employer marketing/recruitment, and provide on-going support both on and off-site.

Details:
• Provide modular workshops to improve
employability (life/employability skills,
career planning, job search and essential
skills)
• Assist job-ready clients to research and
secure work experience placements
• Utilize peer support and group dynamics to
inform and motivate participants towards
successful completion of the program
• Interview and assess unemployed
individuals, identifying barriers to
employment in order to select appropriate
candidates
• Provide constant participant supervision,
encouragement, support and follow-up
• Conduct meetings with employers to
create training plans and complete
paperwork
• Assist in the development and distribution
of public relations material
• Recruit participants for AWARE SOCIETY’s
Job Options BC
• Secure work placements for program
participants which includes work-related
travel

Qualifications:
• Certified Career Practitioner, minimum two
years experience
• Experience in facilitation, employment
counselling, and work experience programs
• Must have job development experience
• Knowledge of the New Westminster labour
market
• Work-related travel during work hours
requires a vehicle and current drivers
license
